Traditional program (One YEAR)
A four-month learning experience where students are immersed in the culture while also attending 4 hours of classes taught by experienced, native-speaking teachers.
After your time at ILE you will have experienced the Costa Rican culture and grow in your Spanish communication skills.


Personalized
One-on-One Courses
This course will be created around your current Spanish level and designed based on your language needs and goals. This can be taken in person on our campus in Costa Rica or virtually, at a pace that best suits you. The student may choose the number of hours per week and length of the course. Advanced students may choose to focus on Spanish for Specific Purposes, like Spanish for Health Professionals, Business Spanish, Spanish for Christian Ministries, etc.

VIRTUAL Personalized and intensive

SUMmester
(SUMMER SEMESTER)
Our Summester is a great opportunity to make the most of your summer by coming to Costa Rica to advance your Spanish skills. Come by yourself, with your friends, or your whole family. We also offer a Spanish summer day camp for school-age students that coincides with the dates for Summester so that entire families can spend their summer learning together.

Spanish for Health Professionals
Attend and assess Spanish-speaking patients self-sufficiently by taking this course. Learn the Spanish terminology for anatomy, illnesses, medications, treatments, and more. At the same time, work on enhancing your Grammar and Spanish communication skills throughout the course.
Minimum required Spanish level: low intermediate

Spanish for Educators
This course is for teachers who would like to be able to attend to the needs of their Spanish-speaking students and families. Learn how to give classroom instructions, discuss academics, and conduct parent-teacher meetings including themes like grades, learning needs, and behavior.
Minimum required Spanish level: no minimum requirement

TUTORING
Tutoring sessions are offered to our current students who want to have extra practice time with a teacher or would like to reinforce what they learned in class. Tutoring sessions may also be used to study specific areas of interest that our students may have for their future ministry or career.
