Health Care

Dr. John Longworth, a family care specialist, is on campus two mornings a week to provide primary medical attention for students and their children.
Dr. Longworth also sees patients at Clínica Bíblica, located in downtown San José, and can be reached via his beeper services after office hours. Clínica Bíblica is a premier modern medical facility, located 15 minutes from the schools, and is one of the finest in all of Central America, operated by a local Christian medical association. It offers first class service in obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, surgery, dermatology, radiology, and specialists in all areas.
Library
The Institute maintains two self-serve libraries -- one on the second floor of the Administration building and another connected to the mail room. Both contains volumes in Spanish, English and Korean on such topics as Spanish language and literature, Bible, missions, discipleship, geography and others. Books and magazines on cultural issues, missionary stress and counseling can be obtained through the Department of Counseling and Pastoral Care. Newspapers in both Spanish and English are also accessible to students.
Sojourn Academy also has its own library, filled with children's, youth and young adult books in both English and Spanish.

Chapel services are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between third and fourth hour classes. They are planned and organized by the student chaplains and usually include congregational singing, prayer, testimonies and message from the Word of God.
For those who enjoy physical recreation, the gymnasium is open four nights a week for basketball, volleyball or indoor soccer. These activities are organized by the Sports Director. Students may also participate in student-led workout classes held on campus throughout the week.
The best thing about ILE is the amazing quality of teaching. The teachers have decades of experience and know how to target specific language issues that students have. They make the classroom experience a great one, and make sure to include lots of cultural lessons into the language practice. Beyond that, there's no substitute for an immersion experience, so I'd recommend ILE to anyone.
