The Student Life Department

Sheila & Dick Dudney, Gretell Perez

The Student Life Department offers students various non-academic services to help them get "settled in," including organization and leadership of Orientation Week.

Student Services Coordinator, Grettel Perez, responds to inquiries about the school, processes applications, helps students obtain their Student Visas, and serves as a liaison to the Housing, Maids, and Big Brother Coordinators.

Dick Dudney, Director of Student Life, and his wife Sheila have been missionaries for over 20 years in Costa Rica, and provide the pastoral care and counseling at the Institute.  They have felt God's call to minister to students who are experiencing the stress and disorientation resulting from the transition from all of their familiar surroundings and confronting  the need to acquire and adapt to a new language and culture.  Their philosophy of personal and marital counseling can be summarized in the following statement: 

"Under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the ultimate counselor, and the direction of the Holy Spirit we seek to 'walk alongside' others with the ministries of affirmation, encouragement, and reconciliation, employing God's Word, prayer, and the personal testimony of God's grace in our lives to promote healing and wholeness in the body of Christ."
